Urbe Prima Presents: Laberintos!

After much hard work, I’ll be releasing my 1st album of this year titled “Laberintos” under Tacatantán Records at The Venue.

Needless to say I have been waiting a long time for this moment, and can’t wait to perform the songs for all of you. I will be playing a very interesting set, which is a mixture of electronic and organic elements. Come and join me so we can all immerse ourselves in the indeleble energy that music awakens in us.

I want to give special thanks to Ron Feldman for all of his teachings, Daissy Linares and Kenny Roy for Urbe Prima’s website, Reina Castellanos for the album art, Rosa Mabel (Fresca Foto), and Tacatantán Records for their support and for believing in my project. Also, big thanks to Marcela Garcés, Hugo Luquis, Rene González, Meche Ausina, Justin Steger, Yamilet Trujillo & Abdías Ernesto García. Your contributions have aggrandized this project.

Laberintos’ is just the first of a series of albums and singles I will be releasing this year along with a special surprise that is in the works. This is just the beginning!

Laberintos’ official release will happen on Tuesday, June 4th, 2013 and I will be announcing interviews and pre-release show events, which will be part of the preparations for the big night.

Also, here is some motivation for those of you coming out to the show:

Hope to see you all there, it will be a very special night!

Urbe Prima Prepares For Two Consecutive Album Releases!

Hello!

I know I have been away for a while, but it has been for a good reason:

Along with Laberintos, I will also be releasing an acoustic album that I have been working on with Tacatantán Records’s Abdías Ernesto García as the producer. This record will bring an interesting contrast to the more electronic dimension of Laberintos, and most importantly will bring more new music to you guys!

I will update you on the release dates for both albums, as well as the album release show for Laberintos.

Also, please stay tuned! More exciting news are on the way!

Thanks for your support!

Urbe Prima @ The Venue

Last Friday, March 1st, at his album release, Abdías Ernesto García said that there are a myriad of things that must link together in order for a moment to take place: every instant is, indeed, a miracle of sorts.

That night, I started reflecting upon the chain of circumstances that had to materialize so that I could be a part of such an amazing event, where I had the honor to share my songs with such a receptive audience, and then later back up Abdías in his set. I felt so honored and happy to be surrounded by my friends, many of who, I consider family. The unique energy of everyone was my fuel as the show developed into an unforgettable chain of genuine moments, a series of those ‘miraculous’ instants.

To download Abdías Ernesto García’s new album, Mas Colores Y Menos Horrores, just visit www.abdiasernestogarcia.com. It is the work of a true artist and an exceptional human being.

Special thanks to Yamilet Trujillo, Marcela Garces, and Hugo Luquis, for sharing the stage with me, it was a privilege to have sing by your side!

Here is a little summary of Urbe Prima’s set that night:

As always, thank you for listening, and stay tuned for more from Urbe Prima!

Compass

Certainty is a spectre…

Certainty is a diagram that mocks the beauty of chaos,
an anchor in mid air, a stab on the back of the Water Dragon.
Certainty is a hammer that levels all who think it’s real,
a beacon of fear, the Herald of Dispair.
Certainty is the cradle of self-victimization,
a fortress of pillows full of feathers with thorns.
Certainty is the mask of infallible quality,
the cloth of inhumanity, the catalyst of sterility.

Certainty is not the map, it’s the labyrinth…

Certainty is the ink that stained the fields of possibility with black strokes,
taming the inner compass, the wild horse that is our heart.
 Certainty is the blade that severed our wings;
wings we were born with to soar through the sky, the limitless blue.
Certainty is the chain that brought us to our knees
to beg for what is already ours, the choice to be free.
